THE LILIES OF THE FIELD
Dear Lord I know You will provide,
The things I am not able,
And keep a coat upon my back,
And food upon the table.
I know some folks who worry,
And paint the future grey,
But when I am most helpless,
You always find a way.
Dear Lord I know You will provide,
Each true necessity,
That through Life's darkest hours,
You have not forgotten me.
Time and time again You've shown me,
That you always understand,
I've only but to stumble,
And You're stretching out Your hand.
Dear Lord I know You will provide
Whatever I may lack,
You love me, and You only ask,
That I should love You back.
And what a consolation,
Your own dear words reveal,
When I recall Your story of
. . . .The lilies of the field.

MATTHEW 6:27-34
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? CONSIDER THE LILIES OF THE FIELD, HOW THEY GROW; THEY TOIL NOT, NEITHER DO THEY SPIN: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or , What shall we drink? or Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
If we have any worries today about the things that we need we are told what we can do in these verses in Matthew. We are promised by God that if we seek Him and the things pertaining to Him, acting right, being upright, doing what is right, according to God's WORD, THEN He tells us these things, things that we need will be added unto us. We first have to obey then we receive the promise. God knows what we need but He wants us to seek Him and His righteousness before He provides what we need. He tell us that we are to have faith in Him and don't even think about the things we may need tomorrow. We are to let tomorrow take care of itself. We will have enough to think about tomorrow.
I have found that most of the things that I worried so much about in my tomorrows never came to pass anyway. It was a waste of time, thought and energy and emotions to spend even one second worrying. I belong to God and If I am seeking Him and walking in His ways and loving Him, He has always taken care of Jim and I and our family. We have never had to beg for bread or go without clothes to wear or have a roof over our heads. God has always provided all that we needed. So think on these things and see if you are seeking God and His righteousness. Is He providing what you have need of in this life? If He is , then we are to be content.
It is such a wonderful thought to me that God takes care of even the birds and the Flowers of the field. He gave His only Son to die for me so I know how much He cares about me, so I need never worry or be anxious. Neither do you if you know the Lord. He wants us all to have this security. We do not have to worry or be afraid. He is there for us. connie

Connie, you always write just what I need to read at the right time!!! I always remind myself of all the time I wasted worrying about things that never happened, so I can win the battle over worry and learn to trust God. Finding contentment is another battle I have fought long and hard over the past year. Your "Victory" poem on your side bar was a huge help for me in that area!! When my computer first died I printed that out at the library, and referred to it all the time!! Thanks so much, Connie!! Love, Kitty
Dear Kitty, I am so happy that I could in some way be a help and be an encouragement to you.Contentment is a very hard thing to learn but when we do, it takes a lot of stress off of us. I hope you are having lots of fun and the days are filled with making great memories. love to you and your family. Thank you. connie
That is a very wonderful thought! And this is something that we need to hear every so often! So many times even we Christians worry about things that we know perfectly well God is taking care of!
Dear Michelle, I know that I need to hear it every once in a while. We do tend to let things pile up instead of giving them to the Lord to bear for us. We are human and humans tend to forget. Have a worry free day today. connie
Thanks that is how I always am when I am about to do something in front of people but I am always happy that I did it after the fact....Lauren is the one helping me and the reason she is nervous is cause her dad might show up and it is her very first time to actually be an attorney but we are both excited...thanks for the comment though
