"SMILE, A WHILE, GIVE YOUR FACE A REST."

SMILE-----A change of facial expression involving a brightening of the eyes and an upward curving of the corners of the mouth that may express amusement, pleasure, affection, irony, or derision

Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him .
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it and none so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business and is the counter-sign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad and it is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

PROVERBS 17:22

A MERRY HEART DOETH GOOD LIKE A MEDICINE: BUT A BROKEN SPIRIT DRIETH THE BONES.

Are you downhearted today? Do you feel alone? Are the pressures of life getting to you? Do you think that you have more than you can bear? My answer to you is, SMILE at someone. Read something happy. Read God's WORD in the psalms. Listen to happy music. Do something for someone. Go visit the sick. Visit a hospital somewhere. Do something, don't just sit there and feel bad. It is not necessary. Think about all the good things in your life. Oh, yes, there are some. Are you not breathing, feeling, hearing, seeing, able to touch and be touched. We all have things in our lives to be thankful for. We get to feeling down at times because we think too much of our selves. Look up, not around. Be determined not castdown. Be happy, sing a song. If you don't have a smile today. I would love to give you one of mine. So, Please consider yourself smiled at. Be happy don't waste another minute in sadness, Ask God to help you, He will, I know He will. You are blessed, count those blessings and smile. connie

How true of your 'smile' for it allows the presence of all things good..

I often smile - as it keeps everyone guessing as to the reason why.

Have a wonderful weekend and blessings to you all.

Thank you, Hope.A smile shows more than any thing the feeling we have in our heart. You can not smile a real smile and hold bitterness and unthankfulness in your heart. Have a very good day. connie

Such great truths! I know when I "purpose" to smile, the Lord blesses my interactions with others. And I know I'm more drawn to people who smile often as well.

Hope you had a great 4th of July!

Dear Connie,
What a sweet and encouraging post! Thank you for the smile, I am sending one right back to you!!! Indeed, we do have so very much to be thankful for. I know when I am feeling down, the best cure is to read God's word!!! Usually that is the reason I am down is because I have neglected reading His word!!! Yes, the Psalms are very uplifting and I enjoy reading those so much! Thank you for sharing your godly wisdom!

May the Lord bless you!

Great post Connie...I hope that I am that kind of smiling person, sometimes I must admit, I am not...
Still a work in progress.

CONNIE'S THOUGHTS FROM THE HEART said...

Dear Deby, We are all a work in progress. We all have days that we don't feel much like smiling but does the total of our days have more smiles than frowns or do we have more frowns than smiles. That should tell us, what we need more of. I am thankful that I am not what I once was but I am looking forward to what I will be one day when I am with the Lord. connie

Thanks so much for this very encouraging post ~ as Christians we have so many reasons to smile and the book of Psalms is one of my very favourites ... I am reading in it now and was uplifted and comforted by this verse today reminding me to trust in Him and He will guide my steps ...

Psalm 17:5

"Hold up my goings in Thy paths, that my footings slip not."

Blessings,
Dallas
